Instituto LIFE visita a Mata do Uru

O Instituto LIFE promoveu no dia 04 de dezembro uma visita a Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) Mata do Uru como parte da programação da Terceira Capacitação da Certificação LIFE.

O objetivo da visita foi proporcionar aos participantes da Capacitação uma oportunidade de observar as ações implementadas pela Posigraf na Reserva que pontuaram e contribuíram para a obtenção da Certificação LIFE.

Essas ações incluem, por exemplo, a abertura do espaço para pesquisadores e acadêmicos, a fim de possibilitar novas pesquisas científicas na área; a construção de um quiosque para acolhimento de visitantes que participam das iniciativas de educação ambiental, projetado junto aos cursos de graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo e Programa de Mestrado e Doutorado em Gestão Ambiental da Universidade Positivo para que tivesse a mínima intervenção ambiental; desenvolvimento do site da reserva junto ao curso de Publicidade e Propaganda possibilitando inclusive realizar um tour virtual pela Mata e conhecer as principais espécies de fauna e flora do local.

Ao final da visita, foi aberto espaço para dúvidas e comentários de como essas ações foram avaliadas pela metodologia de Certificação LIFE e de que forma outras empresas podem aplicar práticas semelhantes e assim, além de conservar importantes áreas, obter o selo.

Mata-do-Uru-010On December 04th, LIFE Institute promoted a visit to the Uru Private Reserve Forestlocated at Lapa (Paraná – Brazil) as an activity of the Third LIFE Certification Training Course.

The visit main goal was to give the training course participants the opportunity to observe and better understand the biodiversity conservation actions implemented in the reserve. The area adoption and actions carried out in the reserve byPositivo Groupwere scored according to LIFE Methodology during the independent audit. All the scored actions positively contributed to Posigraf – printing company from Positivo Group – to obtain LIFE Certification.

The main actions are:

– The launch of space for academia in order to encourage new scientific researches in the Reserve;

– The construction of a Visitor’s Kiosk to receive participants to environmental education initiatives. The Kiosk conception was a joint project between students from the Architecture Graduating Course and the Master and PhD Environmental Management Course from Positivo University;

– The development of the Uru Private Reserve Forest website with the support of students from the Marketing Graduating Course. The website allows a virtual tour at the reserve and introduces the main local fauna and flora species.

At the end of the visit, the LIFE Certification training course participants debated on how these actions were evaluated by the LIFE Methodology and how other companies can apply similar practices to better conserve their areas and ultimately to obtain LIFE Certification.
