International recognition

During the technical development of the Standard, a network for connecting and engaging institutions from Brazil and abroad has been set, involving different stakeholders.

The International Standard will also be original, accordingly to the international benchmarking that analyzed 77 initiatives and methodologies with territorial management interface of 19 countries. Even so, none of the analyzed initiatives presented universal and multisectoral applicability and those that are closer to that purpose focus on sectors, specific situations or locations.

The International Standard on Sustainable Territorial Management is wide-ranging, structured to analyze public, private, urban and rural contexts, all-encompassing, the whole concept of sustainable territorial management, including its economic, environmental, social and cultural dimensions.

This Standard will be essential for the companies to prove to the market the sustainability on the origin of their products, especially for markets that are more strict regarding sustainability issues.
